Safety Policies

El Primer Paso has followed all health and safety guidelines issued by the NJ Department of Health and NJ Division of Children and Families (Office of Licensing) since the beginning of the pandemic.  We have been operating in-person since September 2021.

Precautions include enhanced cleaning, sanitation, and ventilation.  All children, staff, and visitors (strictly limited) are screened before entry through temperature checks and completion of a screening form.  If anyone shows symptoms of COVID-19 after entry, they are promptly isolated and removed from the facility as soon as possible with specific instructions for medical follow-up and testing.

Children are taught about germs and how to stay healthy. Handwashing instruction and supervision is paramount throughout the school day.

Parents drop off and pick up their children on a staggered schedule to limit contact between families.

Teachers take advantage of the outdoors as much as possible during the school day, not only for gross motor play, but also for story time and small group lessons.

Please call the Executive Director, Kathleen Casiano, at 973-361-0880 with any questions or concerns about health and safety.
