Job opportunity – Teacher Assistant
El Primer Paso Ltd., a nonprofit bilingual educational services corporation serving preschool children and their families, is seeking a Preschool Teacher Assistant beginning January through June 2023. Possible summer employment also available.
Regular hours are from 7:20 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Conduct classroom activities under direction of Lead Teacher.
Assist with meal preparation, clean-up and daily sanitation.
Assist children with toileting and handwashing.
Supervise lunch and rest periods.
Coordinate preparation of materials for daily activities under direction of Lead Teacher.
Participate in required professional development.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE A MUST!
High School Diploma required. At least 18 years of age. Associate degree or CDA credential preferred. Two references who can attest to character and experience; fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Terms of Employment:
40 hour work week. Paid holidays, vacations, flex days and in-service days. Follows typical school calendar.
Professional development provided. Attendance at occasional evening events such as parent-teacher conferences as requested by Executive Director. Participation in program and agency compliance with accreditation, licensing and Grow NJ Kids standards.

Volunteer opportunity – Adult ESL Teachers
El Primer Paso Ltd., a nonprofit bilingual educational services corporation serving preschool children and their families, is seeking several volunteers to teach English as a Second Language to adults.
Classes meet 3x a week over the Zoom platform from September through June. Teachers needed for both AM and PM classes. Classes follow a typical school schedule for vacations and holidays.
If you have teaching experience and a desire to help new immigrants, this position may be for you.
· Teaching experience preferred, but not required
· Must have excellent English skills in speaking, reading, grammar, and writing
· Some knowledge of Spanish a plus
· Familiarity with Zoom platform including presentation tools such as breakout rooms and white board
Responsible for planning instruction, assessing students, keeping records of attendance and student progress.
Terms of employment:
· Classes will meet three times a week either 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (MWF) or 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (TWTh)
· Classes are in session now. Immediate availability needed. Classes will end for the school year June 21, 2023
